10 Lesson 2nd and 3rd Grade Space Unit – 7-9 years old

Description

This packet is a 10 lesson 2nd and 3rd grade space unit  designed for a “reader” level- approximate age 7 to 9 years. The unit should take about 2 weeks to complete, taking about an hour to an hour an a half a day per lesson, depending on student pace. The packet covers a variety of subjects, excluding math. It will require a parent or teacher to help the student through the lessons to an extent. The unit includes copy work, spelling, dictation, science worksheets, reading, science experiments, projects, and writing assignments.

You can choose to go deeper into the subject of space if you wish. The supplies are very simple – all you need is this teacher’s guide packet, the student packet, some markers or colored pencils, and a book about space. There are options to do experiments and projects that require more supplies – but they are optional. I highly recommend including as many projects as possible.

Each student will need a book on the topic of space. Have your student(s) read the book themselves or do as a read aloud for a group. There is a book list provided in the packet. You can choose any chapter book on space – fiction or nonfiction!

The product is zipped into a folder containing the teacher’s guide as 1 pdf and the student packet as another.
